Cancer is a dream stealer.
We all have dreams, but when something threatens our longevity, we wonder if we should even bother.
I’m saying to you today: Go ahead and “bother.”
Dreams represent what we believe to be possible.
Dreams refresh our enthusiasm to forge the future.
Dreams reveal who we really are.
Dreams renew our capacity to imagine and create.
This isn’t the time to let despair bury a perfectly good dream.
Hold on!
Dreams give oxygen to hope.
Dreams give breath to vision.
Dreams give purpose to healing.
In 8 Steps to Getting Real with Cancer, I wrote:
“No matter the scenario…we cannot stop hoping for hope is the cradle of vision.”
(page 84)
So oxygenate hope, breathe, and heal.
Nurture hope and dream…
About the new you, a revised version birthed from struggle but determined to thrive despite adversity unlike any other.
Sure your life has changed. More importantly, you have changed. Reality is what it is. But change, even that which is forced upon us, doesn’t have to be a detriment. Rather change buttressed by imaginative vision can propel us past the wounds of brokenness into a future of our own creating.
I believe in you.
Give yourself a chance to believe in you.
You can do this.
