Last night I posted Lesson #1 from an Armadillo, but –Wow! Much to my surprise another lesson quickly followed. I thought armadillos were their own brand of ugly until my computer screen showed me how wrong I was.
As I searched for an image for the first blog, I couldn’t find one “cute” armadillo. So I respectfully joked a bit with God by commenting that I couldn’t see anything commendable in the armadillo genre. I think He rather enjoyed guiding and watching me thereafter. I finally found an image of a nine-banded armadillo that wasn’t “too ugly” and inserted it into the blog. When I finished, the image appeared much larger on my computer screen in the blog format, and to my utter amazement, the armadillo’s armor displayed an intricate symmetry of overlapping scales called scutes. I beheld that little armadillo in all its divinely endowed uniqueness and marveled once again at Creator God.
Then tonight, I went one step further. I zoomed in on the nine bands and took a screen shot. Look at what I found!
Beads. Thousands, I surmise, of beautiful beads in cream, light blue, and beige. Then I noticed the arrow-shaped crevices between the scutes. I could go on and on . . .
Moral of story: Before you discount something or someone as unworthy or substandard, take a closer look and prepare to be amazed.
